About Brasswick

Two toolmakers, one lathe and a rented garage in 2012. Today a full workshop in Strijdom Park.

How we started

Thabo and Pieter met as toolmakers at the same factory. In 2012 they pooled their savings, bought a second-hand lathe and took on small repair jobs for farms and workshops around Randburg.

Word got around. A mill came, then a welding bay, then our first CNC machine. The workshop grew, but the way we work did not change: listen to the problem, quote honestly, deliver when we said we would.

The workshop and the team

Fifteen people and a floor full of machines.

  • 2 ownersToolmakers who still work on the floor and quote every job.
  • 3 machinistsRun the CNC lathe, machining centre and manual machines.
  • 5 certified weldersMIG, TIG and arc, including stainless food-grade work.
  • 1 draughtsmanTurns your sketch into a drawing and a cutting file.
  • 2 driversCollection and delivery by bakkie and truck across Gauteng.

Safety and quality

Every welder is certified. Everyone on the floor wears the right protective gear, and the machines are serviced on schedule.

Parts are measured before they leave, and we keep job cards so we can repeat a part years later.

Where we work

From our workshop in Strijdom Park we collect and deliver across Johannesburg, Pretoria and the rest of Gauteng. On-site welding and repairs are done within about 100 km of Randburg.
